Sandown 2008

This was the first time for a few years that I have been able to go to Sandown (we are usually on our annual pilgrimage to Scotland).  Anyway Alison and I went on the Sunday, chauffeured there and back as the two old crocks have both had recent surgery and find driving difficult.  It was a lovely day.  Lunch outside on the stands with marvellous views all the way to Canary Wharf, Wembley and Heathrow.

So what about the show?  It was quiet!! Great for visitors as we could see all the quilts easily and lots of room to get to the stalls.  Not so good for the stallholders of course with so few customers.  There were lots of quilts of a great variety, journal, art, crazy, challenge and traditional.  Some I liked enough to photograph, many others did not appeal at all but as I did not enter anything I cannot criticise.  I do fear that if we don’t support it though Sandown may be finished which will be a great shame as it is so local.

Sorry I didn’t make it this year, how-about all Loose Threads, (apart from Liz a bit far from India) going next year? What is the theme for next years challenge? Maybe we could enter a quilt?
