Nine Years After
09/06/2008 by Liz.
I became familiar with patchwork while living in Bangkok through some of the expatriate British women’s group. The quilt below is a double size that I made 9 years ago from some fantastic printed shirts that my husband had bought in Mauritius some decades ago and my newly acquired stash of fat quarters.
I continued with my interest in patchwork when we moved to U.K., took up C&G Certificate and continued with the C&G Diploma.
In August this year, we will be moving to Pakistan for a short period, the perfect opportunity for me to produce another double size quilt. With so many new techniques learnt, I can’t help thinking what sort of design I could possibly come up with for a double size quilt.
If only my husband new how much wadding, fabric, cotton, dyes, pewter, screens, printing board, soldering iron, fusible bits, freezer paper, parchment, rotary cutters, machine, oh so many bits to pack, not to mention the few hundred books I couldn’t possibly do with out…and he thought Pakistani traffic was bad!

Summer Sewing
09/06/2008 by Sue.
In order to create an oasis of calm in the midst of frantic wedding preparations - 7 weeks to go! I have booked Monteagle Hall on Wednesday mornings 10 - 12 until September. All Loose Thread members are welcome to come along, have a chat, eat cake and sew.
My aim over the summer is to clear all my U.F.O’s. We shall see.
Sue
